a Dialogue

Man: Nice flying, sir. Thanks for the ride.
Pilot: Glad I could provide some entertainment for you two. Have a good afternoon.
Man: The same to you, sir.
Woman: Good-bye.
Pilot: Good-bye, miss.
Man: Come on, dear.
Woman: Wait, John… I can’t see straight yet.
Man: I’ll help you walk.
Woman: Wait… I need to sit down.
Man: The car’s not that far away. Here, Mary, take my hand.
Woman: John… the ground won’t stop moving…
Man: But we’re walking. It’s only natural for the ground to move when we walk.
Woman: It’s moving too fast…
Man: Let’s hurry to the car then. I have some aspirin.
Woman: Please, can’t we sit down for a minute?
Man: I would hate to dirty your clothes.
Woman: I don’t mind. I have laundry to do tonight anyway.
Man: But, Mary, it’s a matter of principle.
Woman: John! I can’t walk!
Man: You’re still moving, aren’t you?
Woman: There’s grass over there; can’t we rest for just a moment?
Man: In that filth? You can hardly call that grass: much too brown.
Woman: It can’t be all brown, John. Isn’t there some green in there?
Man: If there is, it’s covered up.
Woman: Please, John. It’s all swirling. Let me rest.
Man: Mary, just look at the horizon.
Woman: But I can’t see!
Man: Close your eyes then.
Woman: John…
Man: What is it dear?
Woman: Please… just for a minute. I know I’ll feel better if we stop, just for a minute…
Man: But we have to keep going.
Woman: When will we stop?
Man: We’re almost there, don’t worry.
Woman: You remember… where the car is…
Man: Umm…
Woman: … don’t you?
